I dig STX and the app. Peoples technological limitations arent the cos fault. Is it free? No. Do you need desktop software? Yes. Does the app do everything the desktop server does? No. Does it have the potential to change your entire salon functionality and improve your bottom line? YES! Buy a sweet Mac (I recommend a SSD with 8 mb ram), hard wired into a solid network with quality internet service, and leave the freakin machine on! Should work gloriously for you.
This app stinks i purchased it Dec 12, 2011 it has not worked since. Why say it works on iPad and iPhone when it doesnt i need my money back. I call and did not get the support i need.
I GAVE THIS ONE STAR BECAUSE YOU HAVE TOO, ITS ONE TO MANY..THIS IS A WAIST OF MONEY AND GOOD LUCK TRYING TO GET IT BACK....DO NOT BUY!!!!!!
So nice being able to see what your day looks like without calling the salon. Know that the salon needs a Mac OS and desktop software in order for your phone app to work
Weve had STX at our salon a long time, weve never had any major problems. Being able to manage our individual books from our phones makes life even easier!
App is great! Very helpful for a stylist on the go but when you update it you also need to "re-pair" (sync) it with the main program...EVERY SINGLE TIME! It is very annoying since my salon IT person is also an owner/stylist/mom she isnt always available for this! (
Since updating the app I dont receive notifications that clients are checked in. This is one of the reasons we got the program...
Love the app but very disappointed about the update. EVERYONE at our salon is very unhappy there is no notifications anymore when clients check-in!!!
We just updated this app and the client notification upon check in does not work. I hope this is an error because this is one of the reasons we purchased this software. Will this be fixed???
Hasnt been working AT ALL for a week now!! What is going on?!
Its constantly not connecting to the server for days at a time. I always have to go back in the salon computer and find tune my schedule and what I can do from my phone is very limited.
I was very under impressed. Always disconnected from server....cant view...see...adjust schedule. Not user friendly At all. Im coming from a salon where that system was over 10 years old ...but Much more efficient. No place to add pop ups on clients or check in all for a client with multiple bookings...over all Not impressed! Seems like more of a pain than a helpful tool! I would not recommend this app!
Just updated and now it crashes every time I try to book an apt! Fix please
You can now double book after this download. Just press and hold the cell you want to book wait until it turns blue and a new screen will pop up and you are able to book an appointment on top of a previously booked appointment. Be careful not to double tap you must press and hold and wait for the cell to turn blue prior to releasing for this to work. Would have been helpful for Salon Transcripts to post a tutorial but who cares. Also your server computer has ti be on for the app to work. Try leaving it on through the night. You can also creat different times for same service such as 45 min hc 60 min hair cut or creat a service called extra time 15 min 30 min etc. the app works much better if you do all the work on the front end. Also after downloading update you must turn your device off and on for it to work properly. Try using a hard reboot if your device by pushing the power button and simultaneously holding down the center ibutton for five to ten seconds until the phone turns off then simply turn it back on. Love the back office functions of the software. We auto order inventory now through our suppliers using the purchase order functions. We can check to see all of the past client histories and who has not been to see us and contact them be warned you have to know how to use the product to do this but it is awesome nit to mention that once payroll is set up it works with just a simple query run. Awesome product absolutely love it an they are catching up with this app for sure but they were always miles ahead on everything else. I think these tricks will help many of you use the app better. I really like the update, but I was expecting iPhone 5 support, and the app is crashing a lot, please fix it. thanks
After installing the latest update weve experienced the app crashing whenever we click on appointments. Will you be coming out with another update soon that may address this bug? Had no problems with the app until we updated.
This app should be a lot better. Stx is expensive and I think we all expected more. I want to be able to mark myself in an out, change my schedule, make notes on appointments, be able to drag an appointment down if the client takes longer, etc!! GIVE US MORE
I have push notifications enabled and there is a bug. My client checks in and i get notified, thats fine, but throughout the day ill randomly be notified multiple times that my client is here even though they left hours ago. Every time one client gets checked in I get notified for all the past clients as well. This is extremely annoying and makes it difficult to use my phone regularly when I get alerted so many times. Pleeease fix this bug!!!
I love this app and I am very happy my salon runs off of it. The only thing I would change is it would be great if we got a notification when a new appointment is added to our books. Ive seen a lot of problems where stylists are getting an appointment booked but dont check the app for a few hours and dont even realize they have another client. Also I feel like I dont always get notifications when my clients check in. Please fix those issues, it would be amazing!
